WHAT IS BIM?
Building information modeling (BIM) is a process supported by various tools, technologies and contracts involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of places. Building information models (BIMs) are computer files which can be extracted, exchanged or networked to support decision-making regarding a built asset. BIM software is used to plan, design, construct, operate and maintain buildings and diverse physical infrastructures.

WILLIAM N. PENNINGTON- ENGINEERING BUILDING
GEM Drafting was hired as an Electrical BIM subcontractor to model the Electrical Systems for the University of Nevada, Reno's William N. Pennington Engineering Building. This project opened in 2020 and includes more than 40 laboratories, a Class 100 cleanroom, a large computer lab, a 200-student classroom, and 150 graduate work stations.
