Masonry BIM LifeCycle
The BIM model is created specific to the project to include Individual CMU Block, all wall openings, all clearance zones, rebar around openings modeled and as clearances, bond beam and lintel regions, reinforcing and embed regions, and jam regions.
We work beside the Masonry contractor to ensure Quality Assurance.
Allowing trades to collaborate on coordinated models to convey the design intent to the field.
Process of identifying and solving design problems before they arise on the construction site.
The Masonry contractor may need shop drawings to complete layout instructions for a building. We provide drawings upon BIM sign off of the model.
Post Occupancy BIM
During the BIM Lifecycle we conclude with solving the process inefficiencies to provide better opportunities for the field teams. This is all done through BIM.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) for Masonry is in high demand and is crucial that it is part of this technology. With the high increase in Concrete Masonry Units being used on projects there comes a need for LOD 400 BIM Coordination. Since this is fairly new to the AEC industry it is difficult to find experienced professionals that are capable of producing such model.
GEM Drafting has found a way to manipulate Autodesk Software to produce the necessary details of a masonry model. We have trained our staff in this expertise. Our goal is to improve the industry's standards across the board and set the example for Masonry BIM and Shop Drawing production.
